Recent News Upcoming Battles 1-26-2010: New Editor, New TF144 Wow, Wow, Wow! Our new editor Jason has completed his first edition of the club newsletter, Task Force 144, since agreeing to take over managing it. Jason has jumped in with OBSESSION (so appropriate in this hobby) and given it a completely new look but with the same fun and friendly feel. You have got to see this. Great work! 1-5-2010: Welcome to 2010 MWCI! Happy New Year MWCI. I hope the holiday was a happy, safe, and rewarding season for everyone. I am looking forward to this new year and new decade (with LOTS more battling I hope). For those who may not have seen or gotten the email from our new MWCI President I have copied it below:      Greetings! First of all, happy 2010! I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday season this year. As you may or may not be aware, I will be serving as your 2010 MWC President. My main goal is to make sure everyone gets to enjoy the great fun of this hobby while still keeping every battler safe. While it is not possible for me to be at every battle everywhere in the country (what a sweet job that would be!) I will be making an effort to travel to more regional battles throughout the year. If you're having a big event and wouldn't mind a crazy Jap Captain pondside, let me know. I might just show up.      Safety is going to be a chief concern of mine. Please remember that everyone is a safety officer pondside. If you see something that just isn't right or potentially dangerous, speak up! Nobody likes getting whacked with a BB so consider it as doing a favor to a friend. (Or at least an Allied).      My other chief concern is fun. This is a hobby that people enjoy for as many reasons as there are battlers. While it is very competitive and everyone wants to win, when it all shakes out in the end we're just a bunch of nuts playing with toy boats. If you're having an issue and it just doesn't seem like there can be peaceful resolution, my inbox and voicemail are always open. That's all for now. Again, welcome to 2010! We appreciate the behind-the-scenes neccessities you and the BOD take care of, and am glad you still have time to get boats on the water (the fun part) with the rest of us. 12-21-2009: Merry Christmas Everyone Merry Christmas MWCI! I hope everyone is doing well this holiday and is still able to enjoy some time with family and friends. My son, Christopher (HMS Lion) helped me find this Christmas Dinner menu from 1943 online. I thought it could serve as a reminder to remember those who cannot be with family this holiday season, both currently serving and veterans who served in the past. Please remember that they are also someone's family, as we spend time with our special ones. Bless them, and bless all of you. 12-12-2009: It's that time again Another year has about gone by and it's time to start thinking of all the great battling we are going to have this coming year (I do so by watching the battle videos from past years while I am working with Christopher on his new battleship). We will have new officers in the BOD, TF144 will have a new editor, and there will be several new faces on the water battling this season. It's going to be a great year in our hobby. So it's time to fill out the annual membership form and send in those dues.
